The Lower Grove

Our second day, instead of driving back down to the Valley floor, we drove to the close by Mariposa Grove just out of Wawona. This is one of the places I haven't spent much time exploring inside Yosemite. Like most people, I get way too distracted with the Valley. The clouds were clearing up, and now that it was our final day, of course there wasn't any rain coming. So we decided to hike through the Lower Grove, and made it most of the way to the Upper Grove. We probably could have made it the whole way but it was our longest hike yet with Arya and we honestly didn't expect her to do so well. We kept waiting for her to lose her crap and throw a tantrum but she never did. Still- we made it 4ish miles up and down in total! Not bad!

After that, we headed back home. =) Trip well done.
