Lets see, our last blog had us in Geneva. We got Tuesday morning and took the train to downtown. We walked around in the park by the lake for a while. We found a museum to attend, but when we got there, it was closed. We decided to go back to St. Peter's Cathedral to see the archeological display under the church. WOW, they have dug up under the entire church. There are walls from Roman times and about 4 church foundations from about 2000 years ago. It was really great.
On Wednesday, we went back into town and headed for Carouge, which is a suburb of Geneva. It was supposed to be an older section with lots of shops. It turned out to be a bust. We walked there and then took the tram back to downtown. We then headed back to our hotel. We packed our bags and weighed them.. We then went out to dinner for the last time in Switzerland.
Thursday morning we checked out and headed for the airport. We checked in and waited for our plane to arrive. We finally boarded and headed for Washington. We had a 2 1/2 hour layover in
Washington. We got on our plane for San Francisco. We arrived in San Francisco at 10:30PM. We picked up our car and headed out to our hotel. We had been up for 24 hours and fell, exhausted into bed. I slept for a good 2 hours and then woke up and was wide awake the rest of the night. My body was still on Geneva time! We got up early and packed up and headed for Sacramento. We arrived around 11:30AM. We returned the rental car and started laundry(sorry Howard). Thanks to all who responded to our blog. We love to get comments from everyone.
