The first three days of my travels brought me to San Jose California. to clear things up: I have too much fun to proof read my blogs....if you are looking for perfect grammar read a textbook. with that said...... for the 4th of july, chris and kevin (who I was staying with), had some friends in San Fransisco who had invited us over for dinner. I didn't take any photos of the get togeher but I assure you it was a hoot and we all had BBQ for dinner. earlier in the day, kevin had mentioned that we would be watching fireworks from the rooftop and i was hoping to have some amazing fireworks pictures. Nonetheless, the famous San Fransisco fog screwed up that plan. Hope you enjoy the rooftop photo of the fog....I sure did. ... read more

Well, the Dunns are about to wrap up their excellent adventure out West. When we look back at our blogs, we can't believe all of the amazing places we've been! Overall, we voted that Wyoming was our favorite site - seeing state, but we all agreed that out of the nine states we drove across, we could see ourselves actually living in California. We've only had two little hiccups during our trip - losing our floor mat to the camper bus at Devils Tower Campground and washing my cell phone in the washing machine. The good news is that I bought a new cell phone in Palo Alto yesterday so I'm connected to the world again!! We did have one big hiccup yesterday - the trucking company that was supposed to come and pick up the ... read more

Howdy ya'll, First stop San Jose, we've taken a while to start our journal because, aside from our laziness, the last website sucked. So now we are here. Also, coming soon, a really cool map to look at of our trip... In the meanwhile, we hung out with the Nguyen family in San Jose for a week. After the 5 hour drive from LA to SJ with Binnie and Victor, we celebrated Memorial Day with a fat-ass BBQ with the family. We also celebrated Mylan's, Marc's younger sister's, birthday. After the festivities died down, we ventured out into the area. First, went with all the nieces and nephews to Happy Hollow Zoo (with Jon's military discount). A little rinky dinky, but still fun. Though, it does have an awesome Japanese Garden - Marc says - but ... read more

Well, this will prove to be a quite interesting flight. Sitting here in the wonderful San Jose Airport in California listening to screaming children who, while they are accompanied by adults, have absolutely no supervision. Do us all a favor, please place a luggage tag on them, run them through TSA screening and allow the parents to claim them when they reach their final destination. The parents don't care about what they are doing while in the airport, why would they care if the children flew down in the cargo compartment??? The quality of the passengers on this airline is scaring me even more in SJC. A rather attractive looking man sat down across from me.... Nice dress shirt, incredible dress pants (might consider asking him to give them to me....lol), nice shoes... but is wearing ... read more

Well, ok, so I survived my flight on UnSure AIRrival. Some interesting points to note: 1. Did I get my upgrade... no, I did not. Kind of hard when there are only 4 first class seats on a Boeing 737. Of course, first class on this airline simply means bigger seats and nothing else. 2. Carry-on Luggage: well, I was in Zone #2. A pretty low zone number on any other airline. But oh no, not on UnSure AIRrival. I was the second person in Zone #2 to board and ALL of the overhead bins were full. I had to gate check my carryon (note: I do not attempt to carry-on a suitcase but simply have a rolling bag that carries my laptop, a book, and all of the assorted electrical cords I have to have ... read more

It´s been far too long since my last blog entry. But for once we´ve been quite busy... Our first stop in the USA was L.A. We spent a couple of nights in a hostel in Venice. Venice Beach is a fun place with crazy people everywhere. Moreover it isn´t as posh and superficial as many other places in L.A. After the long flight from Sydney to L.A. we suffered from Jetlag. It was quite a funny experience. We woke up in the middle of the night, couldn´t fall asleep and were hungry at weird times. Due to our jetlag and Philipp´s cold we didn´t do much the first couple of days. Once we felt better, we rented bikes and rode them along the Pacific Coast. We saw some dolphins while chilling on Santa Monica Pier ... read more
