We woke up early to see Morro Rock and were delighted to see the seals that we’d heard the night before. Soon after we visited the Hearst Castle. Total decadence and abundance...we could get used to that lifestyle. We also celebrated Joe's Birthday enroute.

Not far from there, we stopped to see the Elephant Seals sunning themselves on the beach of the Pacific Ocean. They had the right idea...just lay back and relax and enjoy the sunshine.

We travelled up the California coast and were in awe of the beauty of the Big Sur. We ate at the Lucia Inn on their patio overlooking the ocean. Life is good.

The road wound in and around the mountains giving us the most incredible views. We arrived in San Francisco and that’s when the 5th member of the Wanderlust Tour arrived. Debb’s husband, John flew in to spend the weekend enroute to a business trip in Oregan.

Napa Valley was a priority and it didn’t take us long to do the wine tasting. We really enjoyed Rutherford Hills Winery and had lunch at Auberge du Sol. We were feeling pretty good by then which made the experience that much

more memorable. We sat overlooking the Napa Valley and eating delicious food. Life is really good. We finished our tour at Robert Mandavi and especially enjoyed the free flights of wine just before closing. Thanks to the Wine Expert there, Alex.

Today, Sunday, we crossed The Golden Gate Bridge and visited a look-out point. The fog was creeping in across the Bay which we understand is a common thing here. Later we drove down the famous Lombard Street, the world’s steepest and crooked-ist (spelling?) street. We spent the afternoon at Fisherman’s Warf and had lunch at an Italian Restaurant called Cioppinso’s. It was fascinating people watching today as many were in costume for Halloween. Seals seem to be a theme for us as we watched Sea Lions lounging at Pier 39.

We bid John farewell as he flew out tonight and we sang to him, “I left my heart in San Francisco”.
