Twin peaks was clear as a bell that day.
I decided to play golf course in The Presidio today. What a great golf course, with lots of big tree lined fairways and elevation changes. Fairly steady winds were coming off the Pacific this day, as I imagine is the case quite often there. I took a few photos during my walk around the 18 holes. Some good views, but really no views of the water, even though it was so close.

It was $112 to walk all 18, and luckily it is not a terribly long course, right around 6600 yards, but it definitely did play longer than that. Surprisingly, an Army Corporal by the name of Dick Yost shot 65 at this course in 1954. Had to have been hitting it well that day.

After finishing the round, I took a few pictures from right around the Golden Gate Bridge, actually the little rest stop area on the South side of the bridge and took a few more photos.

A par five. It was playing into a strong breeze by the time I got to the tee. I hit a good low drive into the fairway, a nice low 3 iron to about 105 yards, then failed to hit my 9 iron far enough and dumped into that front greenside bunker. I was a bit hot after that weak 9 iron.

The 9th is a par five dog leg right (on the left in the photo), and the wind was helping quite a bit. I hit a nice drive in the fairway, a good 3 iron to about 40 yards short of the green, then had to settle for par after missing my 10' putt.

A pretty well elevated tee if you can tell from the photo. Driving range is over to the right, and it is $7 for a small bucket of balls. Oh, and you can only hit off mats.

Short par four, about 320 yards as I recall.

You can see the Palace of the Fine Arts domed building there on this side of the water, with Alcatraz behind it, and an outbound ocean freighter behind Alcatraz.

I am standing near the parking lot of the rest stop that is the last stop within San Francisco before you head North over the bridge into Marin.

Each of the 27,572 individual wires in the cable looked to be about 1/4" in diameter, which then makes the overall cable some 36 and 3/8" in diameter. Kind of interesting numbers there.
