Portland - Sacremento

Sacramento HostelSacramento HostelSacramento Hostel

A 100 year old mansion for a hostel!! not like we are used to.
Spent one night in the California state capital trying to break up the journey from Portland to San Francisco. It still took 12 hours to get here though but the journey wasn't too bad. We had a Romanian man for company who spoke very little English so we tried being English teachers (badly).

The best thing about the Sacramento is the hostel, its a historic renovated mansion and we got the best room, with queen size bed and actual furniture, which is rare in hostels. It is a mystery that very few people are staying here but I guess the city has to compete with San Francisco, LA and San Diego where there is more to do.

The city itself seems fine, there's a river running though it a "historic downtown" and loads of bars and places to eat, but with ony one day we didn't see much of it. We shall attach some photos when I get chance.
