21 April 2008: I returned from my journey to PAWS. Actually, PAWS has two sanctuaries (both located out of the Sacramento area). The new one that will eventually house all of PAWS' animals is called ARK 2000 (2400 Acres of land in San Andreas, California). I was able to spend a full day there, mostly just hanging out and watching the elephants. I could have done that for another full day easily! P... Read Full Entry

Nickolas Nickolas
Nickolas

Once trained to ride a tricycle as a youngster, then trained to perform in circuses, both Nickolas and Gypsy await their new habitat at ARK2000. Because Nickolas is a bull and unpredictable regarding what will happen as he gets older, extra secure steel fencing is needed to contain him, making this a more expensive venture for PAWS. But, thanks to Bob Barker who helped not only Maggy to relocate to ARK2000 from Alaska but donated to build Nickolas and Gypsy a special barn at ARK 2000. The taste of freedom is just around the corner.... it will be a happy day when everything is ready for them to go over there.
