Wow, we survived rush hour on the Metro in the largest city in the world. We figure that the one billion population of China were all here at the People's Square metro station with us! When we finally squeeze on with our two prices of luggage we could barely breath. I guess that is how sardines in a tin feel!
After riding the Metro across the city we caught the bullet train to the airport. At one point it was going 431 kmh (270 mph) and the scenery was just flying by us. We checked in our luggage and headed to our gate. After a few hours of waiting we boarded our China Eastern flight back to LA and they were actually on time. Hooray!
We were fed lunch, dinner and a small breakfast on the plane. We have eaten a lot of Chinese food the last few weeks and we are both looking forward to a change.
