After recently driving around 10 countries in Europe, it was time to travel to somewhere in the United States, and back to the area where daddy grew up....Southern California. The main reason for going was to attend Daddy's cousin Julie's wedding. I had never met her or many of daddy's relatives. I also had never been to a wedding, so this was going to be a lot of fun. It was to be a short trip, less than 40 hours in LA, but I was looking forward to it.
On arriving in LA, we were met by Avo' Jay. Avo' is grandpa in Portuguese, and when I was much younger, it was a lot easier to say than grandpa, and it has stuck with me. I have a great time with Avo' Jay and it was great to see him after we got off the 5 hour flight, which compared to many of my previous flights, was kinda short. We stayed at my grandpa's sister Susan and her husband Marshal's house. We had the house for ourselves, as they were all staying at the hotel where the wedding was to be.
I shouldn't say that we had the house
all for ourselves, there were also two cats, one that was shy and we only spotted once or twice during our stay. The other was the meanest cat that I had ever seen. It was a black cat with evil eyes. My grandpa told me to watch out for it and not touch it. I wanted to check him out a little so asked my daddy if we could sit on the couch near it and my daddy agreed as long as I didn't try to touch him. However, within 30 seconds of sitting by him, the cat from hell opened up its claws, hissed and before daddy had time to grab me away, took one big swipe at my neck. It was pretty superficial, with minimal bleeding, but scared daddy and me. And to think....that my mommy had already bought me the black cat halloween costum that I picked out. Jenny, the evil cat's mom, also the bride's sister, called a couple hours later to warn us of the cat. Daddy told her that it was too late. I insisted to talk to Jenny and I told her "your cat is going to jail"....my daddy and grandpa laughed, but
Jenny felt pretty bad. However, daddy told her it was okay and that I was looking forward to meeting her.
Since the wedding was not until the next day, daddy had some friends over. One was his good buddy from high school, Brian, and his wife Amy, and their cute 3 year old, Drew. The other friend was Lisa, who went to medical school at Tulane with daddy, and is now an ER doc in LA. She was with her boyfriend Larry and his cool daughter. I had so much fun playing with them while daddy and his friends drank some wine he brought from his cellar. We played with playdoo and other games and ran outside like crazy. I had a lot of fun taking pictures. I was soooo sad to see them go.
The next day was the wedding. I wore my beautiful Indian dress. Daddy bought me a dress when we were in India a little over a year ago, but unfortunately I got too big for it. Luckily, daddy works with a nice woman named Suddha who is from India, and brought me a new dress when she returned from India this past summer.
Daddy bought me bangles and cool shoes to go with it. He did better with my clothes than his, as he brought 2 different black shoes....good thing Avo' Jay had a spare pair.
The wedding was beautiful. I met the bride, daddy's cousin Julie, and she looked like a princess. I met soooooo many of my relatives that I had never seen before......Jenny, Mark, Cheryl, Bonnie, Mitchell, Andrew. I also met some other relatives that I had previously seen like Avo' Jay's sisters Thelma and Susan, and her husband Marshall. And of Course, daddy's sister Amanda. It was so great to see her again. She braided my hair (because daddy doesn't know how) and she danced with me a lot. I had a lot of fun with her.
After the beautiful ceremony that I blew bubbles during the entire thing, it was time to get the party started. I danced with daddy, but it was time to dance with one of the cute boys. there were a total of 7 boys there that were Mark and Alana and Cheryl and Tsofi children. I especially liked Bryce, the youngest who was also 4. I was so sad when
I asked him to dance and he said No. It was the first time I asked someone to dance and was rejected. THat is when Amanda came to the rescue....she danced with me for a while and then got Bryce to dance with me. I had sooooo much fun dancing with him and we became friends. We then went up and watched a movie in their parents room where I fell asleep. The next thing I knew daddy picked me up and we said goodbye to everybody. It was a lot of fun.
The next morning it was back to the "airpork" for the flight back to Miami. It was a great short trip seeing family and friends. I am looking forward to my next trip in January. Daddy isn't sure where it will be yet, but rumor has it that it will probably be somewhere in Central America or back to Italy.
