ain't my photography artistic? Lucky I gave Los Angeles a second chance, because I am already starting to plan my next visit to this amazing city, except this time I’ll defiantly hire a car…
Other than the extraordinary amount of money we spent on taxis to get from one place to another, I generally found Los Angeles more expensive than Chicago; but that didn’t stop me from shopping. We found the best shops in West Hollywood on Sunset Blv and Santa Monica Blv… and Rodeo Drive of course… I think with LA, you just have to know where you are going and how to get there in order to appreciate the city. Everything is very spread out, just like everyone always says, but they have some really sexy and funny billboards everywhere to distract us while we were in the car. Drivers in LA give passengers a lot more leeway, I’d jump out in traffic to cross the road and they’d all stop, in Sydney they would have run me over; they do however LOVE their horns, they lean on their honks for minutes on end, you’d think someone had fallen asleep on the wheel.
The weather was really warm during the day,

Powers went off with this, she wouldn't leave the poor statue alone... I am surprise she didn't make out with it.. haha but dropped significantly at 9pm once the sun had set, naturally annoying Powers. So far so good, we found some really hip restaurants. I normally don’t like Chinese food but on Sunset Blvd there was this really unique and genuinely fresh Chinese restaurant with an amazing waitress. Also on sunset blvd, we found Eva Longoria’s favourite place to eat at… and I had some pasta, salmon and vodka dish, which was really yummy too.
I think I’m getting the hang of this tipping system, I find myself to be a lot more generous if the service is good, I have no issue with not tipping if we wait too long to be served or the service is bad. I actually wish we had tipping in Australia, I found it makes the waiters/waitresses work harder for their money… free refills, they ask if everything is OK and if it’s not they take it back and off your bill, some pretty good service.
They absolutely adore Marylyn Monroe here, and Charlie Chaplin, and all the great old actors… That’s what I love about L.A, everything is just like in the movies, all the stars are treated like Gods and Goddesses
hehe
I met Britney.... and their legacy is so strong. We went to the Hollywood museum and I almost fainted, they had the actual set of “the silence of the lambs” and costumes from movies such as “dreamgirls” and some Mae West, Marylyn Monroe and Greta Garbo outfits… It was four levels worth of artefacts, costumes, awards, sets, props and so forth, I’ve never been so excited to be in a Museum my whole life, and to make it better, the previous day we had visited Universal Studios and seen set of desperate housewives, amongst other things…
Finally, we did the beaches, we walked from Venice to Santa Monica, it was such a nice walk, and Venice is so hippy and artsy, markets everywhere, tattoo shops and what not. Whereas, Santa Monica has the high end shops and very nice cafes, naturally I wanted to hire a bike and ride between the two, but my mate Michael Cox was on a mission to get home (as always) so he could sit and relax in the hotel… FML, power walked through the two beaches and we made it in under 15 mins, sat on the beach for 10 mins, swam for a minute (because

can you see the similarities? the water was freezing, even though it was 30 degrees Celsius outside) and then he went crazy with the shopping… ahh
Anyway, it’s Vegas today. So I’ll let you know how we go in Sin City, bye bye J
