We had a lovely meal last night with Arlene Shelly, Charlie and Jeff ending with a suprise Birthday Cake (one of many to come I hope on this trip)Today we got to use the car we had hired and went to Venice Beach to remind ourselves just how normal and boring we are. The crazy mix of beautiful, weight and image concious people juxtaposed with unwashed doped up Hippys is quite something to see; it seems here on the West Coast anything goes.

I cant believe that its the year that im going to turn 50! For this milestone in my life I have the opportunity to spend some long awaited time with my partner James. Setting off together for nearly 7 weeks I will be able to share with him some of the special places in this world that I have been lucky to visit and enjoy, We are both very excited about our trip and looking forward to seeing some very special places together we are hoping to meet new family members meet up with some old friends and make some new ones.
