19 hours of travel, and only 3 hours lost! On the way to Thailand, even though we travelled 22 hours to get there, we arrived 2 days later, losing a whole day. The way back to California, we left Bangkok at 8am and arrived in Los Angeles at noon! Now, I just hope I can stay up the whole day to try not to have to deal with the jet lag. I am so thankful that I have had the chance to experience such an amazing adventure. As those of you who know me are aware, I am pretty obsessed with learning all I can about all the cultures I can. Although I interact with students from everywhere in the world, especially Asia, and learn a lot from them, there is no experience like learning first-hand. ... read more

Only 3 hours of sleep and full of energy!!!! Stayed up as late as I could last night so I would be exhausted enough to not freak out too much on the plane - you all know me and my 'love' of flying. Not really looking forward to the 22 hours it will take us to get there, but it will most definitely be worth it. We get only one layover on the way, in Taipei, Taiwan. I guess we'll at least get to stretch a bit between flights. We will finally arrive in Bangkok at 1am Christmas morning. I'll be traveling with my friend Christine - originally from New York, but moved out here to California the same time I did. We were each other's first friends here and have planned many eventful outings together ... read more

Have just landed in Lima, Peru, after a fantastic couple of weeks in California. We stayed in LA the first week as Euan and Kate were both working. During that time we went to Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice Beach, Downtown LA and Long Beach (for which we got the Metro through Compton etc - home to all LA riots. DidnĀ“t read about all of this until next day, but suddenly seemed to make sense why the guy stood next to us had his blood group tattoed on his face - eek!). We also had a good day walking (and swimming in pools) in the San Gabriel mountains at the back of Pasadena. Bizarre that such a huge, beautiful wilderness exists so close to the City. We also saw a snake, but not a rattler so ... read more

Hi there all. Well, have arrived "Up Over". Am currently at the tail end of 30 hours of sleep deprivation. It's evening here in LA...7:15pm and it's still bright! Joy of summer. Had a good time before I left. Many emails and an awesome Arctic Lemon cake by my boss, complete with animals and marshmallows for icebergs went down a treat. Also had lunch with family and friends which was great. Had a huge list of chores to get done before I went and got most of them done. Was up at 4am on Saturday to catch the flight to Sydney. After quickly procuring a copy of the latest Harry Potter novel, we boarded the flight to LA. It was very bumpy for sometime. I didn't get any sleep seeing I just kept getting disturbed by ... read more

I'm a little bit sad today. 2 of my friends came visiting me for 3 weeks, they went back to Sweden yesterday. We had such a great time. We went shopping, went to Vegas for 2 nights, more shopping, went to the beach, ate a great restaurants etc. I would lie if I said that I didn't cry when they left. I hadn't seen them for almost 2 years, so it just felt so great to hang out with them again. Hopefully it wont take 2 years until I see them the next time! I'm about to go and look at a car. A -95 Saturn SL2. I don't know ANYTHING about cars. but people keep on telling me that they a reliable cars, so we'll see. I'm just reallt scared about testdriving it. The only ... read more

So, I'm about to buy a car. Actually, I don't even have a driverslicense yet. I did my DMV test last wednesday, but I failed. My last driving lesson that I had, I was driving when it was dark outside. At one point when I was making a right turn, I drove up on the curb with my rear tire. I couldn't see the goddamn curb, there was no lights there so I couldn't see anything in the mirror. So anyway, my instructor told me that if I did that at the DMV, they would fail me immediately. But she said she wasn't worried because I'd never done that before. So, we went to the DMV on wednesday. I me the guy that was going to test me. And the first thing I do, is drive ... read more

I suck at writing in my journal, I know. kevyn would kill me (inside joke). I just realised that I haven't written anything since thanksgiving wich is kind of sad. But I'm gonna try to remember everything that has happened. Well, I didn't go out in the desert to work. Charlotte's husband didn't hace to work so he went with her instead. Wich suck since I really need the money. I did go to the Swedish Christmas fair though. But Manuel stayd home, he said he wasn't feeling very well. But somehow I doubt that. I think is was just an excuse not to have to go to Hollywood by bus in the rain to look at Swedish christmas things... =) But it was ok anyway. I was supposed to work on the 17 and 18th ... read more

I know I know, I sais that I was going to write every sunday, but I lied. As a matter of fact, I didn't lie, I was just busy! We were supposed to have a gig with Cassiopeak on the 17th of november and a gig with Cocain Cowgirl on the 20th. But as some of you might know, I'm working as a nanny to a 6 month old baby. And a couple of dayse before the first gig, the baby was getting sick. Then the mom got sick and was sent homw from work and got penecillin from the doctor so of course I also felt like I was getting sick. Since I get SOOOOOO sick every time, I decided to cancell the gigs. I still had to work with the baby though because the ... read more

But it's gonna be the first gig with the countryband so i have to learn all these country songs from Merle haggard, Johnny cash (my hero!), Willie nelson, Loretta Lynn etc. It's going to be a lot of fun though, but I ... read more
