I was so looking forward to sleeping in today. Our shuttle wasn't scheduled until 10:00 and we had nowhere to be before that. So, when 4:30 rolled around and I was awake, I was not happy. I got up and surfed the web for while until Nikki got up. She also beat the alarm. We got the girls up around 8:30 and then Nikki and I ran to Whitewater Snacks to grab breakfast for us all and take it back to the room.
We met our shuttle at 10:00 and were off to the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal. Because Sunday morning traffic was so light, we made great time and arrived at the Long Beach Cruise Terminal by 10:20. Did you notice the issue? We needed to be at Los Angeles and we were taken to Long Beach. Luckily the two are very close and we were at the correct cruise terminal by 10:40.
After dropping our luggage with the porter and checking in, we were asked to wait in a section of the terminal until they called our boarding number. Even though they had some computer glitches, the wait time wasn't too bad and soon we were called to
board. We found out that there are 1991 passengers on the ship, over 1500 of them are Castaway Club Members. There are 332 children and only 30 teens.
The girls wanted to eat lunch at Beach Blanket Buffet so we headed up there to eat. The Davidsons and Carol were still in the terminal but we saved them a space to join us for lunch.
Once we were able to get to the rooms we went and found our room and relaxed there for a while as well as wandering around the ship. The lifeboat drill went off without a hitch and when we returned to our room we had a gift from our nice friends the Davidsons waiting outside our room.
The sail away party was fun, as usual and we all got Mickey Hand Signs that say Disney Wonder Inaugural Hawaii Sailing.
We went back to our room to get ready for dinner, hoping that our bags were finally delivered. Luckily they were there! We dressed and headed to dinner at Animator's Palate. The menu tonight was the same in all 3 dining rooms and was a Let the Magic Begin menu which was unique to this sailing. Dinner was good
and afterwards the the girls and I went to the shop while Nikki went to Guest Services to see about evicting the girls to their own stateroom.
Nikki was able to coordinate an oceanview stateroom on deck 2 for the girls for a fair price but the room was not going to be ready until after 10.
The girls and I went to the welcome on board show that featured Uncle Aito from Aulani and Mike Super, a magician and comedian that gave us the middle name for our cat Naveen, his middle name Lavenous.
After the show Kelsie went to the Vibe and Nikki and Regan and I moved the girls to their new room. Then Regan went to bed and Nikki and I waited for Kelsie to come back from the Vibe so we could walk her to her room.
