There is a laundry facility at the OK RV Park, so we got that started this morning and worked around the coach with a little maintenance...G checked the water level in the batteries, we changed the water filters, etc. I went back over to check on the laundry and met the nicest couple from Georgia. They have been on the road 10 days in their Lincoln pulling a tent-trailer. They have always liked to travel, so having recently retired, they decided to hit the road!! No generator, so they’re forced to stay at sites with hookups...unlucky!! She was used to always hanging her laundry outside on the line, so she was mystified by the dryer...she was trying to keep things from getting too wrinkled...I suggested she wouldn’t be so particular after a few more days on the road 😊 We had a nice visit while I got the clothes folded, then we buttoned up and headed for Phoenix. We had decided to go through the mountains as we hadn’t seen that area yet. While it was beautiful scenery, it was a difficult drive. Very winding road, and steep grades all along the route. It is amazing that you begin to
Bubba's Big Pig Bar-Ba-Que
Just across the street from the Wigwam Motel :) see the saguaro cactus out on the mountainsides!!
Arrived at the Eagles Lodge in Glenwood at about 4:30. They were very friendly folks and we sat and visited with them for a couple of hours. The bartender and one of the patrons is getting married at the NASCAR race next week, and they even invited us to their “bachelor party” on Sunday...we congratulated them, but said we’d be in Anaheim on Sunday. Left to find dinner at Margaritaville...25th anniversary “Not too particular, Not too precise, Cheeseburgers in Paradise”...yummy!! Then we had to check out the Yard House with it’s over 130 beers on tap. We had walked around the back side of their building to get to Margaritaville, so had seen the room with all the kegs and lines leading to the taps!! Wow!!! Glenn had noticed that it was the same name of a bar we’d seen in San Diego, and it turns out it’s a pretty good sized chain. We sampled a couple of their flavors, then headed back to the coach.

Got up this morning and decided to head over to the stadiums in Peoria where the Mariner’s have Spring Training. They were having a Junior
Saguaro Cactus
Marching up the mountainside just before we arrived in Phoenix Fall Classic, so we didn’t get on the fields, but decided we’d make a trip over for spring training...about 6 hours to drive from Anaheim...
Decided we’d make the trek over to Indio this afternoon, so got buttoned up, thanked the Eagles members again for their hospitality, and headed west!! Arrived in Indio at the Fantasy Springs Casino at just about 5pm, so got situated and went in for some dinner. Had the buffet...was actually pretty good as buffet’s go, and walked back to the coach. G went back in to play cards and I watched a little tv.

Got up this morning and cleaned up the inside of the coach, and decided we’d spring for a “wash” at the truck stop. G wanted to play cards for a bit, so when he finished, we ventured over to do so...it took a while, as we had to wait for a couple of trucks. One was a Dr. Pepper and one a McDonald’s...turns out they are “parties in a truck”...they go to street fairs all over the country as there is a dance floor and sound system built in...was fun to visit with the driver!! Then we headed over to
The Yard House
In Glendale, AZ...more than 130 beers on tap...YUM!!! Brenda & Mark’s...my old neighbors from Klamath Falls who we had reconnected with on our way east. Mark had the day off, so we parked the coach out front and visited with him for a bit. We asked if it would be alright to change our oil, so headed to Napa to get the oil and filter. Did so, then headed to Walmart to get some buckets to put the used oil in...turns out that we could purchase the oil (6 gallons...yes, gallons!!) for $7.50 a gallon LESS there than Napa, so we did!! Picked up some breakfast items as well, and headed back. Brenda was home by then, so we had a really nice visit, headed over to the Stuft Pizza Grille and had a really nice dinner!! Back to their home and sat in the hot tub and pool for a while...nice!!!!!

Got up this am - not too early, mind you!! Brenda already had waffles made, so we ate breakfast and headed for the Street Fair. It runs every weekend during “the season” in the Palm Springs area. Lots of booths selling nearly everything you could imagine!! We picked up a set of sheets for $20!!
Brenda, Mark & Mackenzie
In front of their home in La Quinta, CA Headed back to Mark & Brenda’s and hung out watching college football most of the afternoon. G had entered to win a Jaguar at the casino we’d parked in, so he went over to play cards and see if his name got called. He won a little $$, but nobody called his name...
Meantime, Mark grilled spareribs and corn, so we had a really nice dinner!! Went out to the pool and floated and sat in the hot tub...nice!!!!!

G changed the oil in the coach first thing this morning...nice!! Then while he was getting cleaned up, Brenda and I made breakfast. After we’d cleaned up the kitchen, she and Mackenzie and I went for a walk to “old town”. It was only a few blocks, and a nice stroll. By the time we got back, G was ready to fire up the coach, so we headed down the road. I had to stop at Walmart to drop off the used oil, but we finally caught up to each other by the time we arrived in Anaheim. (G had stopped for a coffee, and by the time he got back on the road, I was already ahead of him...) Checked in at the Anaheim Resort RV Park and got the coach settled. Met a few of the Workamper couples we’ll be working with for the next 6 months...everyone was really nice, so we’re getting pretty excited to begin the next leg of our adventure!! Did a little grocery shopping, got some dinner and watched the Disneyland fireworks from the window!! We’re only a mile away, so needless to say we could see the show (and HEAR it!!) quite well...it was overcast and drizzly this evening, so not as spectacular as if it was clear, but will get to see it every night, so will get plenty of chances to see it in all its glory!!

Walked over to the office first thing this am, but they weren't quite ready for us, so back to the coach. We read and hung around until 11am and Beth, the owner phoned us asking if we could come back over. Met her son Vern, who does the onsite management with her, along with Thomas who's in charge of the property management company - for payroll and employment assistance. They were both really nice and we had a good visit with them. As it's the time of year for "transitions"...the summer folks are headed out and the winter folks are just arriving, the schedule is in a bit of flux. Sounds like we'll be on the work schedule shortly, so will go back late this afternoon to see just when. So far, so good...and will keep you posted as we progress with this new leg of our adventure!!!
