Back to the place we started from, not quite, it's across the road, we are staying in a Super 8 Motel
Beuna Park Hotel $130 US a night Rooms old and smelly
Super 8 $ 60 Room much better and free continental breakfasts.
Those Travel agents know how to get the most out of us, don't they.
Dropped the RV off at Richardsons Service Center this morning all packed up and ready to ship, they are doing a little guarantee work for us before we take it to the shipper on friday.
Into the motel and then down the road for coffee and a bite to eat (lunch).
Down the road from us is Medieval Times which we saw last time we were over (most probably one of the best nights we have ever had - would highly recommend to all), and they have built a new one "Pirates" so we booked in for tonight.
Five thirty pm start, with appetisers and drinks and then into the show for dinner and show. It is an audience participation show, Sam was called on to do her bit, she was a competitor in the flag raising competition. A great show, enjoyed by all.
As usual we all got a little note on a tray from our hostess thanking us for letting her serve us, and a note at the bottom that our ticket price did not include tips or gratuities ( foreign to us Kiwi's but normal over here), it is common to pay 15% gratuity and if you are in some places with a party of 7 or more you automatically get charged an extra 18%.
What I don't like about this is that you can get absolutely crap service and you are still expected to tip - not this Kiwi.
They also put out containers in some places with hand scrawled notes practically begging for tips - in one place in Seattle the note stated that God knew if we didn't tip, I asked the girl who the hell was this person "God" and she wasn't getting a tip from me for writing such a note.
Apparently the wages in some places are so low the Staff rely on the tips to survive, they need to get this sorted.
