I offered my roommate $50 if he finds my passport, I'm so tired of looking. I'm going to go through the basement boxes one more time today. If it doesn't show up by Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning I will call and make an appointment with the Passport Agency in LA for a super expedited one, then go get an expedited VISA too. Hey everybody, Just writing this first pre-travel blog to test this thing out and see how it works.. and to tell y'all what this is all about. As any of you who know me know, by this time next week I'll be off on the first leg of my South American adventure with my long time buddy Devin. I figured while I'm gone rather than make a million phonecalls to tell people about the things I've seen or done each day, I'd try to make a webpage and update it as we travel along. Kate here... We've been chillaxing with our friends Audrey and Erin at their brand new house in Bakersfield for a couple of days. The air conditioning is tres fabulous, as is the company. Congrats to Audrey and Erin and their new homeownership! When we last left you, we were trying to figure out how long we wanted to stay at Joshua Tree National Park. As we drove down I-40 towards the Arizona/California state line on Wednesday the 21st, we saw that the temperature was 110 as we approached the exit we'd have to take to Joshua Tree. At that point there was a unanimous decision to bypass Joshua Tree all together and instead find somewhere to camp for a couple of nights in Sequoia National Forest.
