Here's our plan! Our trip will take 30 driving hours which we will split into 4 days. We will be going over 1,800 miles, half will be in California/Arizona and the other half in Mexico.

Day 1: Alameda to San Bernardino: La Quinta Hotel (it's dog friendly!)

Day 2: San Bernardino to Nogales Arizona: Candlewood Suites (Also dog friendly)

Day 3: Nogales to Navajoa, Sonora, Mx: Best Western Del Rio (Only dog friendly hotel in Mexico...well...almost)

Day 4: Navajoa to Sayulita, Nayarit: Casa Tarzan (Great little villa with a pool!)

We have rented Casa Tarzan in Sayulita for 3 and a half months while we house hunt. Wish us luck!

Here we go! We're on our way to Sayulita Mexico from the San francisco Bay Area. I moved to the Bay Area from Puerto Rico in 1979. My husband Jim has lived here most of his life. After visiting several resort areas in Mexico over the last 20 years, we simply fell in love with Mexico. The warm loving people, the sense of community, the fabulous cuisine, the warm tropical climate and, of course, great tequila.
