I got up early and did some laundry before we hit the road. Since we got out late, after a quick breakfast in the hotel, we set with a goal to get to our next destination, Memphis, early enough to visit Graceland. We got there about 3:00 and after checking into the Heartbreak Hotel, we walked over to see The King's estate.
We got the audio self tour - and it was quite well done. As none of us are particular Elvis fans, it was a bit surprising how down-to-earth Graceland seemed. Gabe and I both thought it was sort of like some place one of our parent's friends might have lived in if they had too much money and not much taste. It was a sad place - it brought home what a normal person he must have been despite fame and fortune.

For kicks, we drove around Memphis and even did a 1/2 mile trip across the state line to Mississippi. I'm not sure if it counts as a
Audio tour
Sam trades in her ipod for the tour visit though! We had some great BBQ and went back to the hotel for the night.
