It is always so wonderful when we arrive in Page and can begin to see the lake. We had spent the night in Page and gone to hear music at the Windy Mesa and had dinner at the Dam Bar. Even splurged and stayed at the Rodeway Inn and enjoyed their free breakfast before we took off for Wahweap.

Drove through the full-hook up area and checked which sites were available. There were a lot of them available and we were able to get #3 which gives you a front row seat of the lake and all the stunning monuments across the way. It is so nice to be able to have such a great view as you cook a meal and wash dishes!

As the sun rises and moves across the sky, the colors keep changing on the monuments. It is very easy to loose yourself in this scenery. We were also entertained by both cottontails and jackrabbits everywhere we looked. Wondered about the coyotes because there were so many. The call of the ravens and crows was a nice background sound to the scene.
