It’s not the Ritz – well it’s not even the Holiday Inn Express

This is a trip to Arizona with Lou, Patty and I. The trip out was nice. Lou and I got upgraded to 1^st class on the first flight and we all watched movies on the 2^ndflight. We land in Phoenix and wait and wait and wait for our suitcases. Seems ours, and maybe 2 others, ended up on a different baggage turn style. Ok, at least it came. So we get in the Lyft to our destination (oh for the folks in Raleigh where it was in the 30s, it was in the 80s). We look up info on the “resort” and it says it’s an rv park… huh?? Well, it will be what it is and the Lyft driver had never heard of it. We get here and it’s a little retirement neighborhood with manufactured housing and some RVs but it is clean and neat and our place is a quaint little house. There is a contact number that we had to call to find out about the wifi and she came over and is great. Teresa got the wifi up and going and brought us a wine opener and more blankets (we only had one). Today she is going to drive us to the grocery store on the golf cart so we can do big shopping for the week.

The place is close to restaurants and the store (which we went to last night just for today) but to get multiple bottles of wine, soda, water… we can’t carry all that. There is also some stuff to do around here, yoga, the pool, a dance,… we will partake in some of it. We will rent a car for a day or two and driver around the area.

Even though it’s not the Ritz, this is fine and we are having a blast talking and drinking some nice wine…

I love traveling with friends and family.
