Hey John, this one is for you. Since we had a storm last time we visited the North Rim we return today to hike the 3.5 miles of Transept Trail and Bridle Path Trail. Worked up an appetite so had Italian sub sandwich at the Grand Canyon Lodge Deli.
Headed back to camp to horseback ride at Allen's Trail Rides. It has been about 50 years since either one of us has been on a horse, so this could be interesting. After the ride we stopped by Jacob Lake Ranger Station, which was established in 1910, and one of the very few stations that is still standing.
After dinner we head out on one of our wildlife trips on FR282, FR212, and Hwy 67. We spotted 12 mule deer, and after a brief shower, we were entertained by many birds playing in a puddle in the middle of the road. Just turned the engine off and watched them play.
