Day 3

Temp: Bloody hot!!

Day 3 was an early one. Not only hadn't i slept in about 4 days (nope, not even a minute sleep last night!) we also had to be out the front of our hotel by 6:20am to be picked up for our Grand Canyon West Rim Tour.
I t didnt seem to take too long to get out there and we stopped off for some photos at the Hoover dam on the way out. We past a few towns with nothing in them and then through the Joshua Tree Forest before arriving at the West Rim.
We were first in line for the Helicopter and boat ride which basically consisted of being helicoptered out then down to the bottom of the GC where we had a 20minute boat ride down the Colorado River. This place was amazing!! I dont think you can fully appreciate the size of it until you see it in person.
After the boat and heli ride we caught the shuttle out to Eagle Point where the Skywalk is, had some lunch then caught the shuttle round to the Guano Point (which by the way, translates to Bat Poo Point, no seriously, they used to mine Bat Poo here for fertiliser). Got some really got shots here and then the thunder, lightening, rain and hail came. We got to our tour bus back in time to head home, only to be held up in a queue for over 3 hrs to cross the Hoover Dam as all the traffic was heading into Vegas for Independence day tomorrow. Finally uploading all my blogs as I've found some free wireless at good old maccas! Not having a big night tonight as no sleep and saving it for tomorrows celebrations!
Im off for dinner and to see a free circus show in our hotel and check out the indoor theme park here!
Will put some pics up as soon as i get to vancouver coz i can use my friend Sophies comp! xo

Wow, so the helicopter ride wasn't too scary then?! Think I'll be doing that when we get there with Contiki. - Provided there's a tranquilliser dart in the bus's onboard first aid kit! lol Hope you have an amazing 4th of July today babe!! Wish I was there celebrating with you! x x x

So far so good hey. I cheered the saints over the line for you. May as well, Hawthorn are no good, got done by 15 goals, but I guess no one can take the 2008 cup off us hey.... Forgot to mention the size of the meals to you. You seriously can get away with ordering one meal between two and still have leftovers at most places. If you happen to go to an IHOP (which is like the pancake parlour) for breakfast you will see what I mean...

Gday Nice to follow your travels. You will be pleased to know that I was big on the Saints yesterday - and got them across the line. Not so the Hawks!! Sounds great already but you will need some sleep soon. Was wondering where you are staying in Vegas - and what you think of it. Also, is it worth doing the bus trip to the GC, or is it something you could easily do yourself with a rental car (which is what we are thinking of at this stage). Keep up the good work - and enjoy! Ian, first night we did bellagio, that was really nice and so was circus circus for the other nights. its alll quite cheap now but circus circus was kinda of down the end of the strip, no prob to catch the bus tho, the public transport is great.
