Day 29 Wednesday August 14 - We carpooled first thing in the morning to the Kenai Fjords National Park to view the Exit Glacier. We went on a nature walk and guided tour lead by one of the park rangers. We enjoyed breathtaking views as we listened to the ever changing life of a glacier and how the vegetation starts after it recedes.
That evening the group went on a cruise to Fox Island for dinner stoping several times to view wildlife in the Resurrection bay.
Day 30 Thursday August 15 - We rode our bikes over to the library to watch the video on the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake that hit this area. It was very interesting to hear the accounts by survivors. Later we visited the Alaska SeaLife Center, the only rescue facility for Alaska sea life and water fowl. There were several animals there that had been rescued that year, as well as some that are kept in the refuge and will not be returned to the wild due to their injuries. The facility was set up after the Exxon Valdez disaster.
Day 31 Friday August 16 - After another beautiful drive through the Turn
Nature walk at Exit Glacier
Again Arm area headed through Anchorage we got to Palmer. There was a Musk Ox Farm and Reindeer Farm. We enjoyed our tours even kissing a moose.
