This is some local totem poles...
Ahoy my fellow humans.....Hows everyone doing??? Well last time i left you i was till in Banff.... not anymore- i left Banff at the beginning of May to meet up with Mumsy In Vancouver, and from there we were planning to go up to Alaska. Seeing Mum was great... we did all the catching up stuff and then went and saw a travel agent to organise seeing the one state of the US that had really caught my intrest...... To hear that it was going to cost $600 each for a one way flight was not kosher... so me being determined asked how much a cruise would cost... and to mine.. mumsy.. and the travel agents susrprise it was only $650... all this for an 8 day cruise with all meals and accomm included... How could we say no????? (it helped that mum fell for the travel agent.. his name was Rob... and was rather sweet- Mum bought him chocolates for all his help hehehe)

So off we went on a trip of a life time.... Our room was really nice... we had our own Steward... his name was Mario and was lovely. And the ship had a gym
"Dolly""Dolly""Dolly"

The local 'lady of the night' well back in the day!!!
and bars and shopping... but the best part of the whole place was of course.... THE 24 HR BUFFET!!!! MMMMMM Man it was awesome... whatever we could want... whenever we could want it!!! Hepas of the Men working on the ship were from SE Asia... so you can imangine my delight at the eye candy... as well as the food :-)

Our first port was Ketchikan... a small salmon fishing village that has over 250 rainy days a year... This was cool we went and saw some totem poles and heaps of bald eagles... and the infamous red light district... well the old red light district... where married men would sneak down an aptly named trail and 'enjoy' the company of women... This town was my second favourite :-) (i called it 'Catch me if you can')

Next port was Juneau... this is the capitol of Alaska and the the town where i saw my first Bear. Here we to the Mendenal Glacier... which i thought looked like little penguins... this was beautiful. After we went up the tramway and got an overview of the smallest capitol city i've ever sen... we went a little hike that was

This is where the 'pros' did their work... not to shabby :-)
more snow than ground... hehe Mumsy needed heaps of help so she wouldnt fall over... then we had a couple of beers at the famous 'red dog saloon' this was a great place... with heaps of stuff on the walls and aman singing old songs i'd never heard of :-) I liked Juneau the best ( icalled it 'Do you know'??)

Then we went to Skagway...(this is where Mumsy fell down the gang plank and almost ended up in the sea hahaha poor little Indian security man didnt know what to do hehehe) It was raining... and there was nothing to do... such a quiet little town- it was like it had been set up just for cruise ships and that no one actually lived there :-)... We ended up booking a train trip that took us up into the hills and to the border of US and Canada... this was beautiful... and a tribute to how harsh and rough this kinda climate was... Had a great day after all... although this was least favourite place (i called it Skagdogs)!!

The rest of the cruise was spent on board looking at glaciers.... Fjords... watching shows...drinking beer...seeing comedians...playing bingo

Men would sneak down here late at night to indulge in the 'women of the night'
and of course eating mmmmm still dreaming of all that food!!!!

So with the cruise over we now headed to Anchorage to continue my quest to find a bear... and some moose :-)

Till next time peace.... ya dickheads

Then our last
