Day 75 - Kenai Fjords National Park

Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise - that's what we did today. We boarded a large catamaran at 10:00 am and made our way through the national park. We toured three glaciers - Bear, Holgate and Aialik. Twice during the trip we encountered Humpback Whales. They gave us an amazing show. The best show was between a sea lion and harbor seal. The seal thought he would climb on the rocks next to an old sea lion. The sea lion did not like the idea at all. Finally after some loud arguing the harbor seal jumped off the rock. We also saw but didn't get pictures of silver salmon and Dall's porpoises. We saw puffins flying low over the water, Kittiwakes and Common Murres hanging out on the rocks. The glaciers are always a real treat. We saw several ice chunks break away from them and make a loud noise when this happens. It sounds like thunder. It was a long day, but worth every minute.
