Last Day at Sea

Finally we got treated blue skies and it was just in time for our last day at sea. Blue skies above and blue ocean all around, it was so peaceful and the best way to end our cruise.. Entertainment included a staff talent show and a final comedy and musical show. At sunset there were a few Orca whales next to the ship and then what seemed to be hundreds of dolphins swimming just behind us jumping out the water as if to say “goodbye”, it was so special!

Some have asked we do whole day, but I can honestly say that not once was I bored with nothing to do..and I didn’t even take part in most of the activities… There was always something to do: taking photos from the deck, breakfast time, snack time, lunch time, tea time, dinner time, nightcap time, theatre shows, shore excursions, Jacuzzi time ,gym time, on board shopping, reading and writing, cooking/cake decorating classes, watercolour painting classes, Spa time, arts and crafts classes, Trivia challenges, basketball, volleyball and table tennis challenges, iPad/iPhone classes, Scrapbooking, food & wine pairing, line dancing/ ballroom/cha-cha/tango classes, talent shows, karaoke, fruit & vegetable carving demonstrations, behind the scenes look at how ships cruise/ navigate/ cater, fitness boot camp, paper plane making competition, bracelet making, crepe making, game shows, wine/beer/martini/vodka/whisky tastings, Sudoku challenge, treasure hunt, kirigami card making, glass workshop and I am sure there were more… the only time I was doing “nothing” was when we were doing something – lying on comfy pool chairs in the sun with a cool sea breeze making it oh so right to snuggle under a blanky..

In all we cruised 1,594 nautical miles (1833 land miles or 2950km) and visited Hubbard Glacier Alaska, Juneau, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan, cruised the Inside Passage and finally stopped at Vancouver Canada.

It was a childhood dream come true and an unforgettable trip. Thank you Annie and UD for this amazing experience!
