Mt. Redoubt
Woke up bright and early this morning. As we had spent the night in a pull over on the side of the Seward Highway. Pleased to say it was another bright sunny day. We drove for a couple of hours until we reached Sterling. Stopped off at a drive thru coffee store and then had a look at some amazing wood carvings which were right next store to the coffee store. Alaska has a lot of drive thru coffee houses around. These coffee houses are like small cabins placed in car parks, shopping centres or just plain anywhere. You can drive through or just walk up to the counter. Great small business idea.

We passed through Coopers landing where will be returning in a few days to do a river raft. Hoping to see some wildlife on that adventure.

Drove through Soldotna. Picked up a few more essential groceries from Fred Meyers.

Back in the RV we continued on until we reached Kenai, where we cooked up a big brunch in the RV overlooking the Kenai river. Enjoyed our first fry up in the RV - Bratwurst, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast! Didn't need any lunch after that.

Arctic Adventure Hostel Anchorage
Visited the Kenai visitor centre and picked up some handy information about the local surrounding areas.

Checked out a couple of the wildlife viewing areas in the Kenai estuary. We had been told Caribou had been sighted in the area that morning but unfortunately we didnt sight them but we did get great views of Mt. Redoubt and Iliamna. These are both active volcanoes and can been seen right along the coast line of Kenai.

Next stop was Ninilchik where we went for a hike in the State Park looking for eagles. Took a path down to the river and watched the seagulls fish but no luck with the eagle sightings. Deep Creek was another State Park close by so we had a quick look around there and watched some locals fly fishing.

We reached our final destination of Homer around 7.30pm. Drove out to the spit and checked into an RV park for the evening. Homer Spit Campground has hook ups, hot showers and an on site laundry $41 per night.

I have added a few extra photos of our trip so far as it is not always easy to find good wi- fi to
