Woke up this morning to rain. My raincoat got its third ever use. It needs more use in CA.

This morning, I went to 2-1/2 museums. First, I went to the Rosa Parks Museum. Excellent place to visit and learn about Rosa Parks and what she did and ignited. Great interactive displays. I wish I could have taken some pictures but photography was not allowed. Second, I went to The Civil Rights Memorial Center. Again, this museum made you think a lot. I took a picture of a recent situation and I circled a paragraph in the description. Sadly, some of these terrible words were repeated recently. Can you figure out who I am talking about?

Today was the grand opening and dedication of the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. Many actors and stars were in town for the opening. The museum specializes in the enslavement of black people that have been terrorized by lynching. I was not able to go in as all the tickets for today were pre sold out. I did get to walk around the outside and it looks great.

I have enjoyed the southern food on this trip. Today lunch was double special for me. I am over 2,000 from home and I had lunch today with dear friends from back home. The Kaminsky’s are also on a cross country trip and our paths crossed. Oh, the food at Southern Comfort Restaurant was excellent too!
