Today when we woke up it was raining heavily so we went to the front desk of our campground (Yogi Nashville) to look into staying another night which we thought would be no problem since the park was not even half full, but they would not allow us to stay another night at $35 (passport rate) they were going to charge $70 so we decided to pack up and move on. The drive itself was not too bad once we got out of Nashville, but we did see multiple accidents. We decided to take a leisurely southerly swing to visit friends and family in Alabama and Florida. As mentioned in an earlier blog, my former boss, Ellen, and her husband Dennis, had retired to Double Springs, Alabama, in the northwestern part of the state. They were a prime influence on our decision to retire in AL and we have enjoyed visiting them on several occasions. I had finally gotten an appointment with a dermatologist for mid-September and we suggested since the doctor was in Cullman, about half way between us, that they could meet us for lunch after my appointment.
