I just wanted to send a last blog entry saying that I've made it home safely and soundly. I know my blog entries trailed off at the end, but things got a little difficult toward the end, and time wasn't as readily available for blogging. Thank you all for your thoughts and/or prayers. I really appreciate all the support. Love y'all, John... read more

Today I arrived back in the Tragic City. Never before have I been so sad to return home from a trip. I say without exaggeration that my time in Europe was better than I could have possibly imagined. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to have seen many wonderful things and to have met such lovely people. As I told Martin in an e-mail, I was quite sad by the time I got to Düsseldorf. I really didn't want to leave! Because of circumstances known to almost everyone, this was a much-needed vacation for me. It turned out to be something much better than any vacation. It was an education better than anything that could be obtained in the classroom. I'll be back sooner or later. At this point, it all depends on financial circumstances. I ... read more

Sometimes you can travel and not leave. Sometimes you can have an adventure in your own back yard. Yes, I love to travel but, my travels are not very broad. I dream of traveling when I get the chance to be quite and think. So, I look for adventures in every nook and cranny, in the areas that I can get to. The latest adventure that I have experienced was yesterday morning. Our 13 yr. old son usually waits outside for his older brother to drive them to school. He throws rocks at trees, looks for bugs, or talks to the animals. Quickly, after going out yesterday morning, he came back in and said that our cat was green. Pausing from my own morning routine, I went to the door and sure enough, Sweety Pie was ... read more

So i woke up three times this morning, firstly at 7.30 am and then 8.20 am and finally i got up completely at 9.30am and i then set about washing some of my stuff and showering and shaving and trying to make myself half normal. i then jumped on to the net and checked my email etc and later on Terry got up (Jessica had already left for the day earlier), so terry is from Jordan although he has a full on American accent and so you wouldn't think he had only been here since 2005. He originally moved here with his mum and dad and two brothers, him and his brothers stayed and his parents decided to go to Dubai as they prefered life in the middle east. Terry's name is Tareq but he just ... read more

Hello All, I'm still trying to figure out how to work my new blog site. This site enables me to attach more photos and I think it will be more user friendly. I had a previous post on this blog site, but am not sure it will show up. It's always a wait and see kind of thing for me:). I hope this email finds all of you dear friends, family and supporters doing well and laboring diligently in the Lord's kingdom. We've been 17 days on the road now, and we do still like one another :, but it is getting a little old:/. Still, it is a means to an incredible end and we still are very excited about our upcoming move to Africa. Someone told us recently that a man who'd been a ... read more
