Sounds so much better than your experience at Cancun. Having the Mayan sites to yourselves can be a magical experience. We were lucky to be the first ones in to Tikal, Palenque and Copan Ruinas. Walking amongst the ruins by ourselves as the sun peaked over the horizon is one of the memories that will always remind us of the wonder of travel. So glad you guys had a good experience in the Yucatan and we look forward to hearing of your future adventures!
