We heard thunderstorms several times at night. In the morning it was still raining lightly. I walked a few minutes down the road to the public beach and found it empty except for one local family. I walked back and fetched the family and we went down around 8:45 to enjoy the empty beach. No sun sunscreen necessary that early with overcast clouds.

Carmen does not enjoy sand yet. She has repulsive reaction of "what is on my feet, help me find a way out". It's worse when she falls and gets it on her hands and arms. After a bit of crying I at least got her interested in a pile of sand I was making. We swam a little bit near the shore. I was doing a good job keeping her head above water until the end when I was cleaning sand off. A wave came from behind and hit her right in the face.

While she took a midday nap, I drove around getting a few more misc items. I found a Wal-Mart, another Wal-Mart clone next to a McDonalds. These stores are more or less equivalent to the ones we have at home but with a lot of different brands substituted.

Adjacent to the Walmart on the east is what appears to be the town hall along with a big park with some statues.

In the afternoon we walked down to the beach club we had access to and hung out in the shade. Carmen still wasn't interested in the water but eventually we got her to come around to walking on sand. After a bit of play and a brief nap on my part, the sky started growing dark from the northeast. Just as we started to pack up and go, a rain storm blasted the beach scattering tourists everywhere. We waited it out a little while but then just gave up and tried to make the during lighter periods.
