We travelled to Playa del carmen this year myself and two friends and we had the best time ever, We were recommended by friends to stay at The Blue Dragonfly Condos which turned out to be the best recommendation we could wish for because they were so unique and magical and different, beautifully designed very peaceful, great location and most of all the price was great only $800usd for the week for all 3 of us !, We loved the location situated in a little residential community with great park in the middle and cherping tropical birds to watch over coffee in the mornings,It turned out that it was a really good location in the newer part of Playa del carmen, known by the locals as "Little Italy" just a short walk down the road was a great beach and every morning on the way to the beach we stopped off at "The Monkey Cave" or for breakfast which is a local haunt a little garden restaurant with the most delicious healthy natural mayan foods and wonderful fresh fruit smoothese made with pineapple,chaya and lemon Mmmmmmmmmm the food was great lots of choice for vegetarians too very good

One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to the most beautiful natural cenote (fresh water open cave) called The garden of Eden which was about a 15/ 20 min drive from Playa by taxi along The Mayan Riviera and it was just like how you would imagine the Garden of Eden to be, a beautiful natural oasis in the jungle full of Parrots, dragonflys and catfish, the fresh water made our skins feel wonderful and we watched the local mayan children jump from the rocks into the crystal clear fresh water it was only $5 usd to spend the day there and we asked the taxi to come back and pick us up in the afternoon and he charged us only $40 us return from playa, it beats the more commercial tourist trail places like Xcaret that charge over $100 usd per person and we like to keep it real !
The best evening we spent was an evening dancing on the beach a free session with the Groove Method held every Friday night at The Indigo Bar on the beach and 14th calle, where the teacher talks you through different dance movements encouraging your

WALK WITH LOVE it said and we did just as we were instructed ;o) own interpretation until you dance free of any inhibition you may be holding on to under the stars with the sand in your toes Ahhhhhh who was it that said the best things in life are free !
