051121 THE Salsa night... ooh and other dances I sit here in an empty class room, after 45 mins sleep in a slight relaxed rush to finish my final project for my 7am ‘Life Drawing’ which conveniently moved to 8:30, i mean I could’ve made breakfast.... forget the sleep! Lol Anyways, last night was the most magical night of my life.... lol no, not really... but it sure was fun, after a semester of salsa (which mind you, secretly, I think it’s the most I’ve acquired in the sense of knowledge here ...) life lesson on the other hand... come everyday :) SO final night, and we were the final act! Two shows the second was PACKED out and the auditorium is .... pretty gigantic... like double the size of the Auckland Girls Grammar one. Ya ... read more

Stayed home again... not that it’s a bad thing :) on the Friday, had the healthiest most amazing meal of me Mexican life. I didn’t spend any money on eating out this week so I decided to treat myself :) That night (a little bit of fault on my behalf) i dragged my friends around to a few fiestas of my other friends... about 5 of them. Little did we know... but the time we got to them (for un-foreseen circumstances) they had ended, so venturing out and around we eventually got to an after party, and home before you knew it ;) 051008 After about 5 hours sleep max, i just HAD to get up before noon (just one of ‘those’ people). Anyway after a bit of spring-cleaning from the night before, and a wholesome ... read more

051001 First weekend back at ‘home’ ☺ Wow, it’s October already! Scary… my Spanish is still ‘mas o menos’(so-so), my intentions were to have a Spanish Saturday and Sunday study ☺ But after three hours… those intentions, changed :S Saturday, after a big sole- clean-up of the house, I started to do my homework…. A wee while later, Janey ask my to accompany her to rival (a piercing and taboo place - very professional and hygienic I might add), the second person I’ve accompanied to get their tongue pierced (what’s with that?!) anyways, we had a girly day, shopping downtown, piercing, and grocery shopping … ooh and I had McD’s for the first time in Mexico too, not bad, not bad ☺ That night, i came home to a quiet house and a full fridge, but ... read more

Well I guess I should really re assure you all that I’m not living in a mud-clay hut… well not yet anyway, that’s saved especially for later on ;) It’s great… I like it’s the boys like it…. And it’s seems the departmento likes us too… (yes, buildings do have feelings, so says the Mexican aquitectura classes) Yup this where I’ll be for the next few months… it’s a whole apartment block with like 8 individual apartments, and mostly Mexican Students which is cool, it’s like 7 mins walk from the school, so since I start class every day at 7am (which really couldn’t be much worse, especially when your freaking alarm doesn’t wake you up!) So… I attempt to wake at 6, we is really 6:30.. have a shower, make breakfast and eat it whilst ... read more

Hmmm so the first couple of weeks have had mixed messages really, still fiestas, still goof times woops and good times, but SO much HOMEWORK,,, what’s up with that?!, it’s not hard homework… more like time consuming, what’s the freaking point homework. I came to Mexico to relax, reflect and religion research, comes into it somewhere… right? WRONG! With full time uni (5 papers, 2 of them being double credits) classes (salsa (pesos $980) , kickboxing, pilates, & aerodance (gratis… free)… (magic card tricks, I wish I could afford)), voluntary work (AMMAC - art and friendship for kids), fiestas and fun times, it appears the lifestyle of Jade stays the same regardless of the country. Finding time for my myself to sit and do nothing… is again, near impossible, I prefer to sleep (which is quite ... read more
