Left Mazatlan on the 13th Of January... Lost track of time , we where suppose to leave on the 12th ...Too funny, didn't realize it till the RV park attendant came to ask if we were going to leave or not? Took the advice of a fellow traveller on the route along the coast instead of the inland route. It took us the entire day to go about 400km's , the road is about 8feet wide with no shoulder and the ever thicking jungle as we got closesr to the water grew right to the edge of the road and grew about 15 to 20 feet straight up. groomed by the passing vechiles and our minnie is around 10 ft 7inches wide , so needless to say when any thing of size ie buses and transport ... read more

We're still alive, in case anyone was wondering but we have been busy and thats the only way to have it. I will start with today and go backward. Evan, Jamie, his worker and Jamie's mom Debbie have gone on an 8 hour whale watching, site seeing tour. I wasn't convinced that he would enjoy himself but Jamie and Debbie were sure he would and at this stage Jamie, definitely knows him better then we do. They had met some people at their condo that invited them and assured that they would love to have Evan along. So thats where they are today. Yesterday, we made the drive to Cave beach. There was 11 of us and we were the only ones at this isolated beach. The road in is the pits but well worth the ... read more

Hello from LaPenita, The Mexican dinner party was great. Our street, aptly named the "Street of Dreams". When we were here in 2006, we travelled down here with Bob and Marie. A lot of us were put on this street but Bob and Marie were located down on the main street. She thought it was dark and damp down where she was but they didn't seem to be able to move up here so Marie would come to visit us on what she called "the Street of Dreams" and it stuck. We now have a signpost on our street and it is the place to "BE". We had the party on our street. Tables were set up and each had a lovely Mexican cloth, candles etc. We enjoyed Happy Hour from 4:30 to 6:30PM when dinner ... read more

Hi Everyone, Here we are in LaPenita. It is very hot and humid. The humidity should subside in a few weeks, they say and I remember it from last time. we had a good trip down here. We left home Oct 13th, drove the first day to a nice campground on the Columbia River. Very breezy. I guess thats why it is the Windsurfing capital of the world or Washington anyway. We drove down through the Reno area. It was very hilly, up and down most of the way. Arrived in Tehachapi, Ca, close to Bakersfield to visit our friends James and Karen. Larry and James golfed in a tournement and Larry came home with a Slow cooker. It has been nice to have especially since it is so hot inside. We set it up in ... read more

Larry and I are on the road again starting about October 13, 2008. Hoping to have a big family Thanksgiving Day dinner and then the next day head out with our final destination of LaPenita, Mexico. We will be stopping along the way to meet up with lots of friends we have acquired in our travels. We meet up with 2 other couples in Arizona and will travel as a group down to LaPenita. The park opens on November 1st so plan on being there for that date. We had 3 weeks in Mexico last year in a great little hotel but it can't compare with the comfort of our "mansion on wheels" and our community of LaPenita RV park. We will be flying home for the Christmas season December 16th and then back to LaPenita ... read more

Hello all !!I will do this entry and then I will go and start the packing process for the 2nd last time. Tomorrow I am off to Florida for a few days before heading home...it has been a great adventure on this continent and I would recommend it to any and all of you. I have been in this area for a week enjoying the hospitality of friends from Calgary and my brother and sister in law. The walks on the beach , the sea food and the companionship have been a treat. Guaybitos and LosAyala each have great beaches and I have had the sound of waves to put me to sleep. I was fortunate enough to go on a 4 hour water safari through a mangrove area north of here on Tuesday and saw ... read more

Things are winding down in Mexico. The weather has been hot and sunny everyday for the last 2 weeks. Spectacular!! What a place. We have been wining and dining around Mexico for 3 weeks now and know that when we get to NZ it ends. It is so cheap to eat here, we have become very spoiled. Chicken quesadillos with salsa and guacamole is about $3.50. 10 minute taxi ride is $2.50. Our accomodation here has been great. If you stay 1 month it works out to be $41.25 per night. Wireless internet is good but Mexican style, off and on. Ed and Anita and Mike and Marg just got into the taxi for their trip to the airport. M&M were here 3 weeks and E&A were here 2 weeks. Both said it was not long ... read more

The adventure has begun. We left home early, early on Jan 13th. Clayton is our faithful chauffer but of course he is probably counting days in anticipation of having the whole house to himself!! Glad to see the tail end of us. We did the 4 hour layover in Dallas which actually was OK. It is an amazing airport. It is American Airlines hub and is huge with AA. There are 5 huge terminals each with probably 50 gates. The Terminals are all connected by a very cool SkyLink monorail. You can travel to each of these terminals to check out shops, restaurants etc without ever leaving the secured area. Very cool. Our wonderful friends, James and Karen met us in PV at the airport even though it was 9:30PM and we are always cautioned about ... read more

Wow...I had forgotten how much I enjoy walking on a beach. The first morning I was here I set out with a pedometer on my waist band and was amazed to read I had walked 6000+ steps on my morning constitutional . The tide was out and the fishermen were in with their catch so there were many people around . It is the end of the school holiday although there are a lot of people around I understand that there will be fewer of them next week. Rincon is a Mexican resort with the majority of the tourist being Mexican . Mind you there are still quite a few gringos . The hotel-apartment I am staying at is manged by a couple from Edmonton and more Canadians have arrived each day I have been here. ... read more
