Woke up around 8:00 today and watched the ship pull into the bay near Puerto Vallarta. It was overcast but very warm and humid. Nikki came out on the verandah about 15 minutes later. We watched the ship dock and then woke the girls up for breakfast.
We all got ready and went up to Topsiders to eat. We had a little time after breakfast so we stopped by Guest Services and then went and sat by the windows on deck 3 for a while before going to Diversions to meet for our Canopy Adventure.
After meeting in Diversions and getting off the ship we got in a small boat and took about a five minute ride across the bay where the offices are for the provider of the tour. We checked in and were given bottled water and allowed time to go to the bathroom before our hour ride to the Rainforest. We were loaded into what I can only describe as an army jeep where we sat on two benches in the back of the truck that faced each other (there were 14 of us on our excursion). The truck took us up to the base
camp for the zip lines.
After getting all our gear on we were given instruction on how to ride the zip lines and then started our climb to the first of the zip lines. We had guides on each platform who connected us to the zip lines and made sure the coast was clear on the other end before allowing us to start off on our ride. What a rush! We rode 9 zip lines and then repelled down to the jungle floor at the end of the experience. Then we hiked back to the camp where we were given more water and cold towels and helped out of our gear. Then came the sales pitch. We were not allowed to take photos while we were riding the zip lines but there was a photographer who took pictures of us. Of course we purchased the photo package and our CD will be mailed to us in about 3 weeks.
Then we made the truck ride back to the ship. Just as we were arriving back in Puerto Vallarta it began to rain. The rain didn't stop for the rest of the night.
We had about 30 minutes after getting
back on the ship before dinner so we showered changed and headed to Lumiere's for dinner. Our table mates (Scott, Cheryl, Kimmie and Stephanie) were on their Canopy Adventure so they didn't join us for dinner. Tonight's theme was "A Taste of California".
We followed dinner by going to Rockin' Bar D for Family Quest, a scavenger hunt game. We were paired with a family from Minnesota. We were asked to bring up things like four left shoes, US currency, plush toys and other obscure items. We didn't win but had a good time doing it.
Regan and Kelsie then went to watch Enchanted and Nikki and I ran across the street to Walmart to pick up some more batteries. It was raining so we got a little wet and, as always, Walmart was an experience.
Back on the ship Nikki and I did some laundry while Regan went to work out and Kelsie had planned on going to a swim party but it was canceled so Nikki and Kelsie went up for a swim. I finished up the laundry load that was in the washing machine.
Tomorrow is an at sea day.
