This takes us to an 11 hour drive from Manzanillo to another costal paradise. Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa are two towns across a bay from each other that have very different personalities. One is full of all-inclusive resorts perfectly landscaped with legible street signs and the other resembles what Andrew and I have been used to. So we stayed in Zih which had a nice market, sizable fishing activity, and plenty of people. We definitely get looks where ever we go and we are everyone´s "amigo." We took a water taxi to Ixtapa Island where everyone needed their hands greased and took in some good snorkeling. I don´t know how, but we´ve been pretty good at attracting people with a lot to say about where we are going. A Mick Jagger lookalike told us all about Guatemala at a little corner bar in Zih while the bartender played Depeche Mode DVDs all night. Not too bad of a night but not much nightlife during the week.
