As blog readers, you expect to read all about our adventures in San Miguel de Allende. The town is surprisingly perfect, bearing little resemblance to beachside Mexico and the resort towns that have been attracting tourists for decades. Its scenery is as multi-layered as its inhabitants: a pleasing blend of Mesoamerican, Spanish Colonial and Contemporary. As far as us gringos are concerned, it's a place of endless holidays and fiestas, art and artists everywhere, pure sunny indulgence. But again, there is little I can say that will explain it better than what you are about to see…

I've heard a lot about San Miguel, mostly good, but it has been called something like 'the Starbucks of Mexico", due to so much foreign influence. However, after seeing your photos with real people, it makes me want to go anyway. The morning coffee shot is most un Starbucks, and my favourite. Carolyn

What a wonderful experience.
Real people, beauty and colour of a culture all in itself. Truly, you find the depth of the country and it's people when you go away from the tourist haunts and into the small towns or cities far from the mass of holiday people. Fiestas, good food and warm people make this country so special. Such beauty, colour and incredible culture of real people in life, doing everything with smiles on their faces and warmth in their hearts. What an astounding place it is and it's so nice to be off the beaten track of tourist haunts. Here you find the joy and love, plus the experience of everyday living amongst the people.
