Day 1
:
We got a fairly cheap taxi nice and easily from the airport straight to our Hostel in the centre of Mexico City, as we were far too shattered from the flight we unpacked in our dorm and chilled out in the hostel with a couple of beers before going to bed. The hostel was in a very good central location in the city, was clean and the staff were very helpful the beds in the dorm were quite comfy but really hot.

Day 2 - "I think we look like Tourists!"
:
When we woke up we went to breakfast then straight out to have a walk around Mexico City, we stuck out like a sore thumb, we were the only people wearing shorts and flip flops and travelling with two 6ft plus people in Mexico doesn´t help you blend in especially when your with Bayman the pastiest white man alive! Everyone kept on staring at us, a group of school kids walked past and started shouting at us, so we had a nice quiet introduction to Mexico City, we went back to the hostel, changed into shoes and went back out to see some
of the sights. We visited a museum about the last 300 years of Mexican History, an Aztec Temple in the middle of Mexico City, which despite being terrible ruins was quite impressive as was only discovered in the 1970s despite being in a huge city and it had a decent museum, we also went in a couple of cathedrals which i'm sure you can imagine was incredibly boring and tedious buy Bayman seemed to enjoy them. We went for lunch at a small restaurant and used are amazing Spanish to order the one thing we understood on the menu, Tacos con pollo (chicken tacos) and a coke which was extremely cheap costing under 3 pounds each for a decent sized and tasty meal. After lunch we explored the city a little more before heading back to the hostel for our 1st tour we had booked Mexican Wrestling.

Lucho Libre and the 1st night out
:
We met the rest of the traveler's going to the wrestling a our hostel, Hannah and Eamon, an Aussie couple, who were a really good laugh, Mark an older English guy, taking a break from his shady job as a lawyer for the
British Government in Afghanistan, three English guys who had done our travel route in reverse and a Swedish girl. Our guide collected us and walked us a few blocks before opening a small yellow door and leading us into a small bar rammed full with Mexicans he ushered a load of locals out of a space for us, making us feel bad but at least we got a seat, we were then given 'Mexican Viagra' which turned out to be a large alcoholic fruit drink, I had pineapple flavour which was very nice but very sickly and didn't get the viagra effect. We were then herded into a minibus and told we couldn't take a camera into the wrestling, which sucked. The wrestling event was brilliant, every bout was preceeded by the sexy mamacitas coming down the isle wearing very little. There were loads of people walking around selling everything, from hats to food and most importantly beer. All of the matches were pretty entertaining, with high flying acrobatic moves, there was even a 6 man tag match with just midgets which was a great laugh. Our tour guide taught us all of the chats to shout abuse at the
Drinking with Terry
Eamon, Wilko, Mark, TERRY, Hannah, Bayman wrestler's, including 'Gays' and 'I F***ed your Mum' the important spanish phrases that i'm sure we will find useful in the future! After the wrestling and many beers we were all feeling very merry and decided that a night out was on the cards, so we went with the Aussies and Mark to a rooftop bat above a nearby hostel. We were served by Terry an absolute nutcase from Ohio, who had moved to Mexico City and somehow got a job in a bar despite speaking no Spanish, knowing nothing about drinks and hating Tequila / what a legend! We drank plenty of beer and a round of Tequila that took for ever as the barmen tried to light them all for some reason that escaped us. We were trying to decide where to go next when, Hannah decided to ask the Mexican girl at the bar where was good to go, Ana, the Mexican girl was obviously desperate for a night out as she decided to come with us and show us where to go. All seven of us managed to squeeze into one 4 person cab and had a very uncomfy 30 minute cab ride paying under 1
pound each. To be honest the rest of the night was a bit of a blur, but we went to several bars and a club, I attempted to down a huge 3pint mug of beer and failed spectacularly by spewing, Bayman obvioiusly took no notice and preceeded to try the same task with an identical result. He then got very friendly with Ana in the club (she wasn't a looker) before we eventually decided to call it a night and got back to the Hostel at 4am.

Day 3 - Teotihuacan
:
After our long night out we woke up worse for wear and met the others downstairs as we had decided we would go on the Teotihuacan tour together. The bus journey mainly consisted of talking and laughing about the night before, sleeping and moaning about how hungover we felt. When we arrived at Teotihuacan we realised we'd made a mistake as the day would involve hours of walking in the blazing sun with horrific hangovers. Although much of the day was torture, the pyramids were very impressive and worth visiting, the view at the top was almost worth the effort it took to climb, but not
quite, the photos looked quite good though. When we got back to the Hostel it was around 6pm and we were shattered so we lounged about the hostel a bit and sorted are travel plans deciding to go to Puerto Escondido to have some beach time after consulting fellow travellers and the hostel staff who recommended it as a nice place then went to bed.
:
Day 4 - Waiting for the bus
:
We decided to get a night bus to Puerto Escondido so spent the majority of the day chilling out at the hostel and chatting to the other travellers. We were also suffering from a bout of food poisoning thanks to the buffet lunch at Teotihuacan so were frequenting the toilets and not eating much. We headed to the bus station at about 7:30pm in order to give ourselves plenty of time to buy our ticket fot the 9:30pm bus, this turned out to be very easy so we spent most of the time psyching ourselves up for a 12 hour bus ride with the runs!!!
