Cabo to Puerto Los Cabos

Dave sailed by the tip of Cabo for some sight seeing and then we traveled east about 20 miles to a New Marina.

This is Ansa anchored off a 5 star resort. He's about 200 feet away, so a short dinghy row gets you there. This is costing us $5.00 forever as a port tax.
Hi All
Well this is my first writing in our blog. We've been in Cabo San Lucas for about a week on the hook off a 5 star hotel, We were waiting for Sarah, Dave's daughter to fly down for a weeks vacation. So after picking up Sarah, Dave took her by the Lands End to see it and then we both sailed about 20 miles east to a "being constructed marina" Puerto Los Cabos. It is being developed as a somewhat mega yacht sport fishing marina. So us little cruisers are let in for $40.00 a day on the unfinished part. No Power in the unfinished part. If you want power it/s $110.00 a day. It's going to be a nice Marina when done. There are definitely no derelicts in this Marina. Last night we walked to town to get an Al Pastor dinner. Al Pastor is is a way of cooking pork. They marinade the pork. Then they put pineapples on a vertical spit. The pork is then layered around the pineapple. The spit is turned vertically with flames roasting the sides. Meat is then shaved off. We all pigged out. It's fast becoming Dave's favorite Mexican dish. This

These giant Cruise ships come in at normally two a day every day. They anchor in the same place we do. It's a good thing they have to anchor fore and aft.
morning Dave and Sarah took off east along the Cape for some sailing and fishing for 5 days. I'm going to relax in the marina, clean ECHO and get some Maintenance done.

This cactus was in the middle of the road on the on ramp to a new but unfinished bridge from the marina to town. What a walk. About three miles. Ate the Al Pastor and taxied back for $6.00.

Cooper in Mexico
Great to see the photos around Mexico. I especially like seeing the Cooper, which I also just acquired, out actively cruising. How does she handle in the open ocean? I have not had the privelege yet, but have heard that it is a very sturdy boat that heals very little even in heavy airs. From an office desk on Vancouver Island , dreaming of being where you are... yours truly, Fergus
