It has been a few weeks since I did a letter about our activities here. We celebrated Kip’s 66 birthday over in Lopez Mateous with our friends Billie and Ted, and their dog Porter, and Rod and Patti and their dog Matey. We camped out near the panga harbour and had a bonfire and cooked baked potatoes in the fire and reheated chicken cordon blue that I had pre done on the boat. Billie made a salad and Pattie made a birthday cake. It was quite windy that day so there was some concern that the fire’s heat would blow away and the food would n’t cook. The food did cook and the birthday candles lasted long enough for Kip to blow them out.

We had a visit from Jon and Kottie, they are down here in a truck and camper and were just on their way north after spending three months in the baja. We had a nice hike over into El Juncalito on Monday afternoon and we stopped at Dick and Heather’s palapa for a cup of tea. Heinz and I met John and Kottie and Dick in Hawaii in 1980.

flew down from Vancouver on Monday and we have been having a great visit. We are teaching him to play back gammon, and he plays chess with Kip. ;We went for a swim off the boat yesterday and Chuck went kayaking in the afternoon.

There is a 60 fit power cruiser ( Our Realm) from Maple Bay with Bob and Morraine on board, they shipped their boat down on Dockwise. We have given them rides to town twice, and we are going in today, with a supper out at El Nido, the steakhouse in town I

I played bridge on Wednesday, it was at a beautiful house near the La Pinta hotel right on the water front. I didn’t get scolded this time. I guess there is hope that I will learn how to bid right. It was a fun afternoon. There are eight ladies who play and it is progressive bridge where you play four hands then players rotate. I’ve now got a photo copied book on playing bridge that I need to study.

Chuck is giving us some help getting a blog set up so we can share pictures and our news without having to
