Hello from Quebec City. This place is amazing, although the computer is different so it is taking me awhile to type this. I am staying at Chateau Bellevue, which is in the heart of the old city. It is an average room but what it lacks in charm it definately makes up for in location. I am finding that more people speak english here, probably because it's mostly tourists, and they are all so helpful & friendly. It's great to hear news from home, pity it was sad news about Steve Irwin, but it's good to hear from all of you. It is all over the news here now but it took a couple of days for them to catch up. Motorhome News from North America 15 27th June - 9th July 2006 ‘Gone Fishin’ in Ontario - and the Italians were celebrating in Quebec City! It was time for a break from travelling, planning routes, seeking out campsites - even writing - and time for a change of routine. In Europe we took a holiday break and flew to Majorca in January 2005, leaving Smiley, (our UK Autotrail motorhome) in Valencia. It snowed in Majorca somewhat to our amazement, but hopefully that’s far less likely in Ontario in June! This time we plan our holiday break with friends in Huntsville, Ontario; about a two-hour drive north of Toronto (or Tronno as they pronounce it here), before heading out east once again. Buongiorno a tutti i lettori Finalmente riesco a cominciare questo blog... Tutto comincia Sabato 20 Maggio alle ore 13:50 quando il volo AZ610 decolla da Roma FCO alla volta di NY JFK. Il volo procede tranquillo, con l'eccezione di avere al mio fianco TAL PASQUALE AMETRANO DA CERIGNOLA, il quale nel suo pugliese stretto tenta all'istante un approccio di dialogo, reso immediatamente vano dal mio finto appisolamento e dalla visione coatta di numero tre film e mezzo, tutto intervallato da pranzo a base di simil-lasagne vegetariane e simil-vitella. Giusto un paio di Nastro Azzurro si salvavano... I feel privileged to be posting this journal from Canada, dear reader, while enjoying my first visit to this wonderful country. While on the road Canadians have always held a special place in my heart, and they share with Australians a spirit of fun and adventure that ensures they are always excellent travel companions. Now I'm pleased to report I can finally dispense with the worn out travellers line that I would love to visit your country. Here I am and very glad to be in the country that was narrowly beaten into third position in the recently completed 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, just behind Germany and the United States in the overall medal tally. Started my tour to Quebec City at 7:30 in the morning, with 3 Brazillian friends. Quebec is 3 hours away from Montreal by bus. First stop was at Montmorency Falls, the highest waterfall in North America. Was there for an hour. Really didn't need that much time. It was freezing cold. -20 to -30C. Felipe kept getting "frozen" by the cold weather. Next, we visited Place Royale. An important historic site in front of the walled fortress. Had to see Chateau Frontenac and the Old Quebec Ville of course. It was a very pretty little part of town, but I must say that a lot of it is geared toward tourists.
