It's 1:30am. I'll be rising to greet the frigid morning in and do the airport boogie in less time than I care to think. (Sleep is for wimps!) My boyfriend Chris, for those who may not know him, is doing the same last minute connects from his computer upstairs. We have both vowed to make our writing a much bigger part of the journey this year. This will be our second jaunt to Latin America. We backpacked the Yucatan and other southern parts of Mexico for a month last spring. This year our focus is Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador. But for our first week we will be returning to Puerto Escondido to visit friends renting a house there. How I am longing to be back on that beach again! I hope these messages will ... read more

Its kinda cold and snowing but thats the fun of it! experiencing the winter season of North America! We're so excited and we didn't even sleep on a 5-hour plane ride and as we touched down at Dorval Airport, we took a taxi to our hotel at Crowne Plaza...hmmm, nice and cozy place! We had dinner at this Italian restaurant ......to be continued... read more

Hey y'all. So I'm off in a couple hours. The amount of sleep alotted me has now been reduced to three hours. But what the hell, sleep is for wimps. If my mind were functioning a little better, I would try to wax eloquent on the subject of setting off. But I'm out of brain cells, so you're out of luck. I do hope you'll come back soon though, and I'll try to make it worth your time. zzzzzzzzzzzz... read more

We left as early as 4am that Saturday to start a grueling 5-hour drive to Montreal. They say that being in Montreal is like being in Europe. I got excited because I have never been to Europe. So after hours of driving, we arrived in Montreal at around 9am and we were able to check in to a nearby hotel where we will be staying for the night. It was not as fancy as Sandalwood but it would do for a good night's rest after gallivanting within the vicinity. It's called the Hotel Viger, along Rue Hubert or Hubert Street. Approx 60 bucks a night. Not bad for a tourist spot as popular as Montreal. A fellow guest in Sandalwood warned us about Montreal, since it will all be our first time there. He said all ... read more

I have been to Montreal, Canada a few times....LOVE it here. This is a huge city and has some of the best shopping and restaurants around.
