Greetings all,

Since our last entry we've picked up a hire car (a big jeep which is just what we've needed here) and driven about two and a half hours to Tremblant Natonal Park - the ski area. We're staying in a fantastic chalet right in the village with friends. We've been wanting to 'do' the chalet thing for years and it really has proved as much fun as we'd hoped. Our chalet is perfect; it looks out over a huge lake and backs straight onto a forest with deer roaming round and frequentely coming to visit us at the back door! It has a HUGE fireplace which is perfect for relaxing after a hard day of skiing and beers.

The ski resort itself is much better than we had hoped with VERY GOOD apres ski - loads of lively bars and plenty of good ski shops. The resort is very different from the sort we've been used to in Europe but very picturesque - a bit more like big disney style buldings in a big ski resort. There's a live band that play in the main square as the skiing ends each day (Jackie and James usually

found dancing somewhere in front!).

We're taking it in turns to ski while the other hangs out in the village with James and anyone else in the group who dosen't want to ski for the day (sometimes the bars are just too tempting!). It's working out ok and we're both getting to do some skiing most days.

The temprature has been much better than we had expected too..... until today that is, when it suddenly dropped again. This morning Chris got up early to catch the first lift up and it was nealy minus 20 at the bottom - add in a trip up the mountain along with some wind and it was getting close to unbearable (only for the very dedicated skiiers in the right kit!). Anyway, at least the extra thermals and balaclavas we bought are getting put to good use.

Sadly we don't have any photos of us actually skiing - when you're up high on the mountain it's way too cold to stop and take your gloves off (you need to ski down as quickly as possible which is good for your technique!) We've added a few of the skiing but they are lower down the mountain on the gentle runs near home.

We're packing up tomorrow and moving on, will update soon.

Hope you enjoy the small selection of photos,

Regards

C, J & J
