Since Sarah and I are only days away from our moving behinds to London, it’s starting to look awfully bare in our little cozy condo. It very weird to take everything you own and determine if it: a) comes with you (God Bless British Airways and their unusually large 70kg baggage allowance. Suddenly it looks like all the shoes might be able to come with, after all) b) goes to storage. To be unpacked God knows when? Debates like: Will I ever have a need for this lovely white ceramic serving platter? (Why on earth did I ever need a huge white ceramic swerving platter to begin with?… to the best of my recollection I never cooked a meal for a family of 12 to necessitate such a thing…) and so on. It’s very weird to ... read more

Toronto: The Raleigh Of Canada We finished up at Boston and with a full days driving ahead of us to get to Niagara Falls, Well so was the plan. Gell started off driving out of Boston and onto the Massachusetts Turnpike to begin what should have been a six hour sojourn along a fairly non descript highway. About an hour or two down the road we pulled over to get fuel, to have Gell ask to swap drivers, before getting out of the car and blowing chunks all over the interstate (Surprisingly he wasn’t hung over). After a brief rest Gell returned to the car a pleasant shade of yellow. Sarah jumped behind the wheel for her first experience with the tortoise and we were on the way again. Alas we only made it down to ... read more

Hi Guys, Well, the turtles are now being spoiled at Corinne's, the fridge has been cleaned out, the bags are packed, and we awaken at 5:00 AM tomorrow morning. For me that's a real effort! It's been great touching base with all our friends, whom I already miss. As soon as we cann log onto our site, look forward to our reactions and comments to CR. If nothing else, at least it's warmer than here! Let the games begin!... read more

OK - it's 3 days to launch, and it's a perfect day for all the little things that need taking care of - this Blog for one. Outside is a freezing rain storm, so the mere possibility of warmer weather is enuff to make me excited. Turtles need to go to their babysitters in Midland, but not today - too trecherous to drive. Tomorrow then! Mumster... read more

So, I am currently sitting in a library on Roncesvalles- a few days from departure! I have wrapped up my time at Guelph and I can't thank everyone enough for all of the awesome gifts and quality time I have received over the last week. It was pretty emotional towards the end :) Anyhow- I am setting up this blog for us to stay in touch! So, you've got to come here and catch up on my adventures- I will try to post videos, pictures and hilarious stories from my adventures down under. Some of you are probably curious as to the plan- I am leaving this Saturday on a flight to San Fran...and after a 3 hour layover, I am off to Sydney! (a 14 hour flight) The university runs a pick up service and ... read more

Hello All, We left St. Catharines after a great visit at 8 Dundee and headed onto see Bry in Toronto. The drive was short, but we weren't in tune with traffic. A little more hectic than rush minute back in the Horse. Bry was staying in Massey Hall with other junior fellows and the like. Quite a step up from the undergrad experience. We got a chance to meet friends Libby and James, and Rob hooked up with breaker Troy and other b-folk. We even got the chance to check out a downtown Toronto club with breaking and battling. Ug was up in the mess while I sampled the local Steam Whistel. Our biggest news is, of course, the much anticipated brandings. We found out about Blair on the net and made appointments back in November. ... read more

Hi Nackers Well Beefie and I have traded in the sun and the beach babes in for the cold and some snow bunnies. When we flew into Toronto it was -8C and I reckon my balls were up in my throat, especially since we only had our cricket whites on. Once we found our bearings we decided to go up to one of the mountains and have a look around at a place called Georgian peaks near Collingwood. There was not much going on so we decided to go to the pub for a few pints and to watch some sport. What sort of commonwealth country does not have cricket on the tellie Beefie is writing a letter to the Queen telling Lizzie that she should let the frogs have the country if they are not ... read more

Hi all! Firstly we hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and New Years and that you all managed to have a bit of a break and enjoy a beverage or two! Last time we wrote we were in Durham, staying with Marks’ Nan, who was tickled pink with our company! She even took us to church to “show us off” to all her friends in the congregation!! So we had some down time staying there and managed to fill up our hours looking for a car only to find absolute duds. During our time in Durham we both managed to secure jobs in Collingwood (which was only an hour away) on Blue Mountain- Mark in retail and I in hospitality, and secure accommodation in the town. So we did do some good work while we were ... read more

The new year had just begun, and morgan and i sat together in her apartment considering the past year. i asked morgan what her favorite voyage was in 2006. she thought for a moment and replied with disbelief that she hadnt left the state of ohio in the entire year of 2006. i had been to australia for a couple of weeks and oregon for a week and alaska for more than a week and new york city for several days. Being confined to ohio for an entire calendar year, we decided, was absolutely unacceptable. with a few last minute arrangements, we were on the road to toronto by that afternoon. we were fasting that day so we made good time since we didnt need to stop for food or bathroom. we drove past niagara falls ... read more

I awoke to the realization that this is my last day of work in Canada for quite some time... this in itself has made this my favourite work day to date! Today my cubicle felt more spacious...the sounds of photocopiers and printers where like music to my ears...and the dust coming off the 30 year old client files spread around my desk, was like that of a warm ocean mist. In less then one weeks time i will be on a flight out of this great city, onto destinations I have been looking forward to seeing for many many years. My first stop will be Hong Kong, then New Zealand to work and party down, after which comes Australia and then who knows?! Since there is little else to report at this time I will end ... read more
