Day 0: Getting Ready to Roll

We're finished packing and all set to leave tomorrow morning. This entry is more of a trial to make sure that everything is working well, since there is not much to say.
Our last day of preparations was long, full of shopping, driving around, and there was lots to do, but now it's over, and tomorrow we begin more than a month of much simpler days: bike, stop, repeat.
Below you can see a picture of Therese's front hall full of stuff as we were sorting through what to pack, and what to leave behind. In the end we did a pretty satisfactory job of packing, and I think that the weight on our bikes will be pretty reasonable for the trip we're planning - though we may start to miss variety in our clothing by the end of the week...
Anyway, we are leaving at about 7am tomorrow, so off to bed for about 6 hours of much needed rest before the adventure begins!

Wish I was joining you ...not!
Eric and Therese! Sorry I couldn't whip you into better shape for your trip. There's very little advice I can provide on such a long journey. However its very important to know what to to when confronted by a black bear or a brown bear. A) Stay calm and allow the bear to play with you a bit and then it will leave. B) The other is to run jagged like crisscrossing your steps as bears cant follow this path.... I just cant remeber which one is for which bear. Have a wonderful time and vaseline often.
