TORONTO!!!!!!
So this was Christian's official second trip to Toronto, and my 1st. We had the good fortune of staying with a friend, Dan 😊 What a good host he was too!! And the view...I tell you it was priceless! I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while in T. And, we just happend to arrive on Thanksgiving to stay with non other then a cook! What a brillant idea...Now who thought of that one...? We had stuffed turkey, scalloped potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, glazed carrots, home made biscuits and gravy (well some of us got to try everything, others only a selection...not to mention any names...) So...2 hours and 9 pounds later everyone is sufficiently sufficed, to say the least! It was delicious! Easily one of the best Turkey dinners ever (if not the best!). And that dinner was just the beginning...
We had planned on spending all of our time in Toronto with Dan, but unfortunatly he got called into work, so day 2 in Toronto we spent by ourselves. We hopped on the subway and headed downtown. First stop: The beach? Apparently. We we doing some wondering, hoping to walk Young street and we just happend to find a small beach (with umbrellas and everything), but swimming was not recommmended (and not because it was too cold). We continued out journey up to Casa Loma (which is a real castle in Toronto, who would have thought!). Here we learned a ton about the history of the city. And we also got to wander through the Secret Passage ways!! YAYYYY!! There was even another wedding going on (what is that, 40 we've seen so far?). What fun! There was even a tower we could explore. One of the best views of the city. It's a must see for anyone going to T.O. Afterwards, we went to the market for a quick bite. It was nice, but not quite Quincy Market. We wandered down the infamous Young St. And even saw the Hockey Hall of Fame (from the outside!). It was a long day, but well worth it! But, actually it wasn't done yet! We finished the day with a good ole all you can eat sushi experience. MMMMM MMMMmmmmmmmm
Finally, Dan had the next day off and we got to go to the CN tower. What can you say about the CN tower except that it's pretty high up there! It was amazing how fast that elevator went up to the top, and you have to watch it because you're ears will probaby pop. But, I have to say the most fun is the glass floors once you get to the up there. You can see right down to the ground. Watching people stand on it was hilarious!! People would get down on all fours and crawl across the floor (as if that would keep them safe...) And, jumping on the glass floor was awesome...people would freak right out! After that interesting experience, we wandered around some more and we ended up in China town. Wow, wondering in and out of those stores really makes you feel like your in another world. Finally, in true T.O Style we went out for more FOOD!! This time to Thailand, and it was fantastic...Easily the best I ever had.
