Hi everyone... We spent the first weekend in June with John and Cheryl in Mahone Bay, Nove Scotia at the Rayport Campground. On the 4th SOME of us did a walking tour of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia in the rain. One of us (Doug) decided he would pass and went on a driving tour by himself!! We spent the beginning of last week with Kristy and David and then headed up to Pictou, Nova Scotia with Gary and Mary (David's parents.) We left Halifax on Monday and are on our way back to Ottawa. We plan to take 7-10 days and enjoy the road trip! Hope all of you are well, Love, Doung, Nancy and Copper!... read more

Being retired is hard work! So, for the next week, we will be kicking back and relaxing at Woodhaven Campground in Hammond Plains, Nova Scotia (just a few miles from Kristy and David's). This is the campground that belongs to Mona's neice and where the motor home was stored. Copper is still having a great time...she's only chewed herself loose from her rope twice in the last two days! It's off to Canadian Tire for some chain! We'll let you know when we have decided where to go next. It is wonderful to hear from all of you! Love Nancy and Doug... read more

I'm off to Nigeria tommorrow! Oi it is going to be a long plane ride over, but I'm still excited! First time setting foot in Africa :D I'll be gone for just over 2 months and it is mainly work related, but I'm sure once all the work junk is over with I'll venture out and explore lots. I'll try to take lots of pictures too and buy neat souvenirs for the people I know. Wether or not I have internet access out there is questionable. I'll be able to use basic email, but I may not get to update this site or check other email accounts. Hopefully though! If not, I can still bust out high tech sat phone to bug all my friends with. I promise to check the time zones this time guys/gals, ... read more

Yup, I've arrived back at my batcave located right in the middle of nowhere Canada. Now begins the job search and the restlessness until my next far out adventure. Ah yes...the next trip. Definately getting off the continent again I figure, I have a really bad case of wanderlust with a heaping side of lunacy that needs to be fufilled. I can never rest in one place for long or else I start to lose it. I have to see the whole world yet and I'm only up too around 10 countries explored in great detail so far. That's a ton left to go to! I'm excited thinking of all the possibilities yet to come :D If only travelling was cheaper. Same with booze. Better yet everything should be free...yeah that would work. *Reminder on next ... read more

After about two years of travelling to various places around the world, i finally decide to make a travelblog. It would have been great to have found this place earlier, but oh well. Anyways, this is just the first entry into what will be many. In 24 hours I'm about to head off on a short 3-4 week backpacking trip to the middle of Canada. I've already travelled through most of Canada before, but I'm heading on this little *vacation* for a couple reasons. Chief amongst them is spending some time with long lost friends whom I havent seen in a long time. Plus the cities I'm planning to stop at are really fun :) Sure it may be cold this time of year, but I've traveled around in way worse conditions. I got the first ... read more

January 10: I hope this adage is true and all will now fall in place. To start, we arrived at Halifax Airport a day early!!! I had given myself a day's leeway in case of snowstorm on our drive back east from Christmas in Quebec and had lost track of day and date. Better early than late. We left Shelbourne, NS as scheduled (so I thought). Tuck ignored us when we left. I guess he thought we would be back shortly as we did not put his food bin in the back of the truck and he had had enough travelling in the last few days (1500 km). Belinda says he has not tacken his eyes off the baggage we left behind since we left. In any case, we were up at 4 am and showed ... read more

So... this is it! I leave in three days for a flight to the other side of the world. It's a solo journey to Southeast Asia... and I'm going to be working in Ho Chi Minh City for six months. I am SO excited. I just got off the phone with a wonderful friend of mine... Kayte... and she is about to embark on her own amazing journey across Canada with her boyfriend, Jay. I wish them both the best... and lots and lots of LOVE! My trip begins out of Halifax International Airport, then a connector in London and then Malaysia Airlines to Kuala Lumpur before arriving in Ho Chi Minh City on January 12th 2006. I will be sending as many pictures as I am able to upload... (once I figure out how to ... read more
