Beautiful Place

Atlantic Canada’s most photographed site is Peggy’s Cove. With the houses of this tiny village clinging to the weathered hillside at the edge of Margaret’s Bay, the Atlantic beats against the granite bouldered coast. The lighthouse is perched on 400 million year old granite, it also serves as a post office in the summer. Even with the clouds and showers there are lots of sightseers climbing on the rocks and snapping photos.
Lunenburg is our next stop. It is a wooden-ship kind of town honored as a UNESCO world heritage site. It is one rainy day, as we get into Lunenburg. It is a small touristy town with lots of gift shops and of course the pier with the Bluenose II. History just drips from the old houses along the streets.
Once the rain passed we ventured out again down to the wharf and had some wonderful mussels and beer---brought in on the boats, in the morning and steamed in the pm---FRESH.
