May 29-31, 2010 Peggy’s Cove Light House and Digby, NS After leaving the Cabot Trail I headed down to Halifax via Coastal Highway 316. The route took me through quaint Atlantic Ocean seaside fishing villages that probably don’t get many tourists. The skills of fishing have been handed down from generation to generation. This is probably one of the best restaurants in Digby. I had scallops, lobster and halibut that all were from the local catch. It was DELICIOUS! Thanks Donna and Genevieve for your hospitality.

It cost me $50 for my bike and $40 for myself to cross the Bay of Fundy.

What a day this was with lots of sunshine and no wind. It made the crossing very easy. I have heard that when it is very windy, passengers come off the ferry very, very sick. I can relate.

This is a view as we leave Digby. As you can see, there were lifeboats all around the vessel. Good to know.

The ferry saved my around 10 hours and 400 miles of time by crossing versus driving. Time and money very well spent.

We are in the middle of the Bay of Fundy where the tide can fluctuate 60 feet.

View from the stern where I spent most of my time. Didn't realize how the sun affected my head as I came off the boat with a sunburned head. Paid for that one for several days, especially with a helmet.
